Aachen is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany. This city is at the point where Germany borders on Belgium and the Netherlands. I have been staying here since this year January.
The Thalys high-speed train connects Aachen with Brussels and Paris. You can get the price as low as €25, but make sure you do the booking at least 2 months before. There are also hourly local trains from Liege.
The nearest large airports are Düsseldorf and Cologne-Bonn. Both airport can be reached by train via Düsseldorf resp. Cologne central station. The trains from Cologne and Düsseldorf run every half an hour; express trains (Regional Express) take about an hour and local trains (Regional Bahn) take 90 minutes.
